Three principles of inclusion


  1. Build cultural competence
    Effectively operating in a variety of cultures and work environments is crucial, no matter the geography or culture.
  2. Making heads count
    According to CEO Greg Case: "Diversity is counting heads and inclusion is making heads count." We work hard to foster an environment where opportunity and success are defined by one's character and ambition, not race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, or citizenship.
  3. Establish an inclusive culture
    In other words, put values into action and live them. Internally, our 10 business resource groups help colleagues network and address challenges and are open and welcoming to all. Externally, our efforts have been noticed: we were recognized as a top company by National Association for Female Executives (NAFE) in 2013, 2015 and 2016, and we have made the list of Best Places to Work for LGBTQ Equality for nine years in a row.

Aon has active partnerships with organizations including Out & Equal, the National African American Insurance Association, The National Society of Hispanic MBAs, the National Black MBA Association, Women's Circle, American Corporate Partners for Vets, the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago for Disabilities and the Catalyst Organization.
